White Dhokla

Ingredients

  • Buttermilk – 2 cups
  • Green chilli paste – 2 tablespoons
  • Urad dal – 1 cup
  • Rice – 3 cups
  • Salt – To taste

Method

1. Wash the rice.

2. Dry it on the cloth.

3. Mix it with urad dal.

4. Grind the mixture in the grinder till the flour is a little granular (like rava).

5. Heat some buttermilk in a pot.

6. Add the flour mixture and salt, while stirring.

7. Cover the pot.

8. Keep it aside for 6–8 hours.

9. Beat the batter.

10. Add green chilli paste.

11. Beat the batter again.

12. Boil water in a pot.

13. Put a trivet in it.

14. Grease a plate.

15. Pour the batter on it.

16. Put the plate in the pot.

17. Steam for 5–7 minutes.

18. Take out the plate and cool down the dhokla.

19. Cut and serve.
