Raita (Tomato and Onion)

Ingredients

  • Tomato – 1
  • Onion – 1
  • Curd – 2 cups
  • Sugar – ¾ teaspoon
  • Coriander leaves – 1 tablespoon
  • Green chilli – 1
  • Raita masala:
    • Salt – 1 tablespoon
    • Roasted cumin seeds – 1 tablespoon
    • Black salt – 1 tablespoon
    • Red chilli powder – 1 teaspoon (optional)

Method

Raita masala:

1. Coarsely ground the cumin seeds.

2. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl.

3. Store in a refrigerator.

Raita:

4. Finely chop tomato, onion and green chilli.

5. Churn the curd, sugar, 2 tablespoons of water and raita masala together.

6. Add the chopped tomato, onion and green chilli to the churned mixture.

7. Mix well.

8. Garnish with coriander leaves.

9. Serve chilled.
