Moong Dal Vada

Ingredients

  • Moong dal – 1 cup
  • Ginger – Small piece
  • Aniseed – ¾ teaspoon
  • Green chilli – 2
  • Asafoetida – 1 pinch
  • Pattal leaves – 3 to 4
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil – For frying

Method

1. Soak moong dal for 2 hours.

2. In a mixer jar, put the soaked moong dal.

3. Add aniseed, ginger and green chilli to the dal.

4. Grind the mixture. (Do not add water.)

5. Beat the dal mixture for 10 minutes.

6. Take oil in a wok.

7. Clean the pattal leaves.

8. Pour 1 tablespoon of the dal mixture on the leaf and spread well.

9. Put the leaf in the hot oil.

10. The leaf will separate from the wada in a minute.

11. Take the leaf out.

12. On the same leaf, repeat the last four steps. You can make the big vadas using this method.

13. Enjoy the vadas hot with chutney.
