Poha Cutlet

Ingredients

  • Soaked and drained poha – 1 cup
  • Chopped onion – 1
  • Boiled and grated potatoes – 3
  • Chopped coriander leaves – ¼ cup
  • Green chilli (minced) – 1
  • Cumin seeds – 1 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder – ½ teaspoon
  • Red chilli powder – 1 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice – ½ tablespoon
  • Chaat masala – 1 teaspoon
  • Chopped cashew nuts – 1 tablespoons
  • Oil – For frying
  • Salt – To taste

Method

1. In a pan, heat the oil.

2. Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds.

3. When they start crackling, add the onions.

4. Sauté.

5. Add red chilli powder and turmeric powder.

6. Sauté well.

7. Keep them aside.

8. In a large bowl, add the poha, potatoes, cashew nuts, onion mixture, green chilli, coriander leaves, chaat masala, lemon juice and salt.

9. Mix well.

10. Form a soft dough.

11. Form small roundals from the dough.

12. In the pan, heat the oil.

13. Fry each roundal till they are golden brown.

14. Serve hot with ketchup and chutney.
