Bread Manchurian

Ingredients

  • Bread slices – 6
  • Onion – 1
  • Capsicum – 1
  • Finely chopped cabbage – 2 cups
  • Green chilli – 3
  • Coriander leaves – 1 cup
  • Corn flour – 1 cup
  • Red chilli powder – 3 teaspoons + 2 teaspoons
  • Tomato ketchup – 4 teaspoons
  • Lemon – 1
  • Spring onion – ½ cup
  • Black pepper – 1 teaspoon
  • Water – 2 cups
  • Oil – For frying
  • Salt – To taste

Method

1. Crush the bread slices into a powder.

2. Cut the onion and capsicum into square cubes.

3. Cut green chilli, spring onion and coriander.

4. Mix chopped cabbage and powdered bread slices.

5. Add red chilli powder, salt, corn flour and water.

6. Make a soft dough.

7. Divide the dough into small equal-sized balls.

8. Heat the oil.

9. Fry the balls till they are golden.

10. Keep the fried balls aside.

11. Fry chopped green chilli, capsicum, onion and coriander leaves.

12. Cover the mixture for 5 minutes.

13. Add 1½ cups water in a pan.

14. Add lemon juice, tomato ketchup, black pepper, red chilli powder and 2 teaspoons corn flour.

15. Mix well.

16. Boil for 3 minutes.

17. Add fried manchurian balls to this gravy.

18. Cover the pan.

19. Cook for 5 minutes.

20. Turn off the flame.

21. Garnish with coriander leaves and spring onion.

22. Serve hot.
