Sweet and Sour Paneer

Ingredients

  • Paneer – 200 grams
  • Carrots – ½ cup
  • Capsicum – ½ cup
  • Onions – 2
  • Sweet and sour sauce
    • Onion – 2  
    • Carrot – 100 grams
    • Tomato – 250 grams  
    • Water – 5 tablespoons
    • Black pepper – ½ teaspoon
    • Sugar – 3 tablespoons
    • Salt – 2 teaspoons
    • Cashew nuts – 2 tablespoons
    • Kashmiri red chili – ½ teaspoon
    • Cut coriander leaves – 2 teaspoons
    • Soya sauce – 2 tablespoons (Optional)

Method

For sweet and sour sauce:

1. Roughly cut onions, carrots and tomatoes.

2. Take 2–3 cups of water. Add salt, vegetables and cashew nuts to it.

3. Boil for 20 minutes on low flame.

4. Switch off the flame.

5. Let the mixture cool down.

6. Now puree the mixture in the mixer.

7. Place the puree on the flame.

8. Add sugar, black pepper, soya sauce and red chili powder.

9. Cook for 2–3 minutes and the sauce is ready.

10. Add coriander leaves.

For paneer:

11. Cut the paneer in small cubes.

12. Cut the carrot, onions and capsicums.

13. Fry the paneer, carrot, onion, and capsicum.

Final phase:

14. Add the prepared paneer to the sauce.

15. Cook for 10 minutes.

16. Serve hot.
