Orange Kheer

Ingredients

  • Milk – 1 litre
  • Sugar – ¾ cup
  • Oranges – 2 to 3
  • Bay Leaf – 1
  • Elaichi powder – ½ teaspoon
  • Almonds – 8 to 10
  • Saffron – ¼ teaspoon
  • Pista – 6 to 7 (optional)
  • Chironji – 1 teaspoon (optional)

Method

1. Soak the almonds overnight.

2. Soak the saffron in milk.

3. Boil milk.

4. Add bay leaf to it.

5. Let the milk boil till its volume reduces to half.

6. Peel and the oranges.

7. Peel the soaked almonds.

8. Cut the almonds and pista.

9. Add them in the milk.

10. Add chironji and sugar.

11. Add saffron and elaichi powder.

12. Switch off the flame.

13. Let the mixture cool down to room temperature.

14. Add the orange slices.

15. Keep the kheer in the refrigerator.

16. Serve chilled.
