Coconut Patties

Ingredients

  • Potatoes – 5
  • Corn flour – 1 tablespoon, or, Bread – 4 slices
  • Onion – 1
  • Tomato – 1
  • Green chili – 2
  • Ginger – 1-inch piece
  • Amchur powder – ¾ teaspoon
  • Garam masala – ¼ teaspoon
  • Oil – 1 teaspoon
  • Coconut powder – ¾ cup
  • Bread crumbs – ½ cup
  • Corn flour – 2 teaspoons
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

Phase 1:

1. Boil the potatoes.

2. Peel the boiled potatoes and mash them.

3. Add corn flour to it. If you do not have corn flour powder add bread slices to the mashed potatoes.

4. Add salt to taste.

5. Keep the mixture aside.

Phase 2:

6. Fine chop onion, tomato and green chilli.

7. Grate the ginger.

8. Add ghee in a wok.

9. Sauté ginger.

10. Next, sauté the chopped onion.

11. Add tomato and green chilli to the onion and sauté the mixture.

12. Add amchur powder, coconut powder, salt and pepper.

13. Switch off the flame.

14. Add garam masala.

15. Let the stuffing cool down.

Phase 3:

16. Take a lemon-size portion of the potato mixture and make a cavity in it using your thumbs.

17. Add some stuffing into the cavity and close it.

18. Roll the potato ball in the bread crumbs and deep fry.

19. Serve hot with green chutney and sauce.
